Playoffs still in sight despite a rough few weeks for RSJ

To say RSJ is having a rough period in the season is an understatement. After a good start, San Jose has lost three of four and is looking to find a way to salvage the season. BUT! The Wild West Conference playoff race is still wide open and, RSJ still controls their destiny.

RSJ has two games remaining, this Saturday at Napa and home on the 23rd, and two wins would be great, but one win might be enough. Either way, the playoffs will not be decided until RSJ hosts AFC Hearts at Mt. Pleasant High School.

"This has been a strange season given our recent travel difficulties. Injuries have played a part, but some guys just left the team playing short-handed, and that has to change," said RSJ Manager Nick Arellano. "

One player has been stellar this season. Luis Avalos has played every game and has emerged as a star player. The 21-year-old midfielder starred at Mt. Pleasant High helping the team win a CCS title.

"Luis has made a big step forward for us, no doubt. He has always been a terrific player, and it is great to see him take a leadership role in RSJ," said Arellano.
