(Dec. 22, 2014)
The National Premier Soccer League announced the player list for its inaugural Combine Tournament and two Real San Jose players will be on display. Forward Jose Avalos and goalkeeper Jonathan Arellano will play for the West Team in the two-day tournament scheduled for January 9-12, 2015 at the Broward College Soccer Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The event is an amateur combine tournament between the four regions of the NPSL, which includes teams from the West, Midwest, South and Northeast. The Northeast will play the South, and the West will play the Midwest on January 10. A championship game and a consolation match will take place on January 11. Further details regarding the combine tournament will be released starting January 2.

“It is an honor to be picked to play in this combine because this is one of the greatest opportunities I’ve had in soccer. I’m going to take full advantage of it,” said Avalos.

Arellano said “This opportunity is the reason I play in this league. This league has been great to me and my development as a player. I want to keep advancing to bigger and better games, and this combine will give me the chance to achieve that. I not only want to play well for myself at the combine, I also want to play well for other players after me so they keep having this combine and other players get the chance too. At Real San Jose, we have a bright future ahead of us with the young talent we are developing, and I hope they get a chance to move up also.”

The list of players is at the NPSL WebSite.
