Real San Jose overcame being a goal and a man down in their NSL Pacific Quarterfinal match to win in penalties over Stockton TLJ FC on July 9 at PAL Stadium. Francisco Avila made the most of a perfect setup pass from Alvaro Gomez to tie the score at 3-3 shortly before regulation time ended. The final score was 8-6 as RSJ converted all five spot kicks as Avila scored the 5th and final spot kick. Real San Jose will now advance to the NSL Pacific Semifinals.
