Dave Gold Joins Real San Jose

(San Jose) Real San Jose announced today that Dave Gold had joined the club as head coach.

"Dave is the perfect person to help lead RSJ out of the covid shutdown, and I am excited to have him join us," said Real San Jose manager Nick Arellano.

Gold, 64, comes to RSJ with an extensive coaching resume at all levels of soccer in San Jose. He has coached the San Jose Clash of MLS, San Jose Earthquakes of the Western Soccer Alliance, San Jose Grizzles of pro indoor soccer, San Jose Oaks of top class amateur soccer, De Anza College, Leland High School, and various teams in the Almaden Youth Soccer League.

Gold's most notable coaching achievements include leading De Anza College to an undefeated State Championship. At Leland, he became the first coach to win the Boys CCS Championship with three undefeated seasons and earned a national public high school record going undefeated, 55W-0L-10T, over three years.

"Nick and I have been friends for over 30 years, always coaching against each other. It's about time we put our lengthy experiences and work together," said Gold.
