RSJ goes out of Open Cup qualifications with loss in tiebreaker

Real San Jose Soccer Club

Real San Jose's US Open Cup hopes ended at the start as the club fell 4-2 in a grueling 120-minute battle that was decided in tiebreaking penalty kicks. Longtime RSJ stalwart Olasunkanmi Abass, made his return to San Jose eventful right from the start as he chipped a perfect pass over the outbreak FC defense for Dennis Sorto to chip over the goalkeeper and into the net in the games 3rd minute. That lead was given away just seven minutes later as a seemingly harmless pass somehow fell to a wide-open opponent who made no mistake with the gift. RSJ had plenty of chances to win the game both in regulation and overtime but then ultimately fell in the tiebreaker.
