Real San Jose defeats JASA in exciting 4-3 match

Real San Jose Soccer Club

Real San Jose defeated JASA from Redwood City by the score of 4 to 3 in an exciting UPSL regular-season match at PAL Stadium on May 16.

The match seemed like it was going to be a blowout as Real San Jose was up 3-0 after 23 minutes. In the second minute, RSJ midfielder Angel Heredia played a perfect ball to the chest of Jonathan Garcia who smashed the ball into the back of the net. Just a minutes later Garcia crossed the ball to Bora Moya and RSJ was now up to zero after 10 minutes. Garcia then scored from the penalty spot and RSJ was off to the 3-0 lead. It was quite a start for Garcia who was making his Real San Jose debut.

JASA sent the message that they were not going away and pulled a goal back in the 29th minute from the penalty spot.

And the Redwood City struck again in the 52nd minute which would be the first of three goals scored in a seven-minute span.

In the 55th minute Chicago scored off a corner kick from Hoang Pham. RSJ had little chance to sit on a two-goal lead as JASA made it a one-goal game in the 59th minute.

No doubt seven goals in the first 60 minutes was exciting. The final 30 just as exciting and perhaps more stressful as both teams created, then missed good opportunities. In the end, it was the RSJ defense that survived.
