Real San Jose Soccer Club

It was a match that should not have been played for a number of reasons and it turned out to have a place in US soccer history as the only official league match played over parts of two days and months. It happened when Real San Jose traveled to visit the El Paso Indios at the beginning of the lower league explosion which saw the number of amateur clubs playing at the national level grow 10 times between 2007 and 2022. Midnight Game is based on the true story of how upstart Real San Jose survived a seemingly doomed road trip from Silicon Valley across the southwest to face the would be National Champion El Paso Indios, who were a true second team to a professional Mexican soccer club. Real San Jose Soccer Club

On April 22, 2023, Real San Jose and San Leandro United locked horns in a high-octane NSL Pacific match as both rivals aimed to outclass the other. The game took place at the iconic PAL Stadium, where the weather was perfect for a soccer showdown–clear skies and a gentle breeze. Both teams had their players performing in top-notch form. Real San Jose lined up with their key players, including the dynamic duo of Lluis Dolade and Hector Herrera, while San Leandro United boasted the skilled Kevin Elvir and a sturdy defense.

First Half: Scoring Onslaught
The first half saw both teams clashing for possession with an intensity that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. It was Real San Jose who struck first when Dolade headed a cross from the left, setting up Herrera to smash a close-ranged shot past San Leandro's goalkeeper. RSJ looked to be in control. However, San Leandro United proved to be equal to the task when Elvir found the back of the net with a long-range shot that eluded Real San Jose's goalkeeper, Juan Carlo Fuentes. This stunning equalizer was followed by another goal from Dolade, who rifled a rolling cross from Yasid Alvarado into the net shortly before halftime.

Second Half: A Dramatic Turn of Events
The second half saw a stunning goal from Elvir, who notched another equalizer for San Leandro United with an impressive 19-yard free-kick. Late in the game, a controversial moment unfolded when Dolade was brought down in the penalty box from behind. Real San Jose vehemently appealed for a penalty kick, but the referee waved away their protests, much to the frustration of the home team.

Post-Match Reactions

The final whistle blew with a hard-fought 2-2 draw, and both teams walked away with a point in a highly competitive fixture. RSJ had more chances to score than SLU but failed to find the game-winner. The key point in the game was undoubtedly the referee's decision not to award Real San Jose a penalty, which could have potentially given them a late advantage.

Upcoming Matches
As Real San Jose prepares for their next match against Richmond Sol at MLK Park, fans will undoubtedly be eager to see how RSJ responds to this draw. Meanwhile, RSJ will also return to PAL Stadium to host Marin County FC Union on May 6, with kickoff set for 7:00 PM.

Real San Jose's U18 team and San Leandro United's U18 team played the first-ever NSL U18 match before the senior-level encounter. The new league is set to kick off in a couple of weeks, with more U18 teams encouraged to join the fun-filled competition.

Real San Jose Soccer Club

The Real San Jose soccer team kicked off the 2023 National Soccer League season with an impressive 3-1 victory against San Pablo FC on April 15th, 2023. The match took place at MLK Park in Richmond, and it certainly gave fans plenty of excitement and reasons to be optimistic about the upcoming season.

Real San Jose forward Lluis Dolade emerged as the star of the game, scoring two goals and assisting on a goal by teammate Cristian Cruz. Dolade's first goal came in the opening stages of the match, and his second goal arrived late, putting the game away.

In addition to Dolade's standout performance, midfielder Yasid Alvardo played a crucial role in controlling the game, winning several key challenges and distributing the ball effectively to create numerous scoring opportunities for his teammates. His composure in the midfield allowed Real San Jose to dictate the tempo and thwart San Pablo FC's efforts to gain a foothold in the game.

The return of defender Andrew Canepa to Real San Jose added stability to the backline, effectively neutralizing San Pablo FC's attacking threat. Canepa's experience and leadership proved invaluable, guiding the team to a strong defensive performance and limiting the opposition to a lone goal.

The final scoreline of Real San Jose 3, San Pablo FC 1, leaves Real San Jose with a strong start to the 2023 National Soccer League season.

Real San Jose returns to PAL Stadium next Saturday to host rivals San Leandro United kickoff will be at 7:00 PM. The Real San Jose newly formed U18 will play their first-ever match at 5:15 PM vs San Leandro's U18 squad.

Thrilled to hear you're curious about the San Jose PAL competitive soccer program! Let me highlight the exciting details you've been waiting for.

Get ready for some thrilling soccer action as San Jose PAL joins forces with Real San Jose of the National Soccer League, creating a dynamic and competitive program!

Our "startup" squad goes head-to-head with U18 boys teams from various NSL Pacific Conference clubs! Feel the anticipation build as most matches kick off before Real San Jose NSL Pacific clashes. With PAL Stadium as our home turf, you can also join us on thrilling adventures to other Bay Area cities for some high-energy away games. There are plans to create an official NSL Pacific League; however, that may or may not fill up in time for this spring/summer season. Even the youth league is in "startup" mode.

Creating an official NSL Pacific League is in the works, and it just might kick off this spring/summer season. That means we will either play a series of exhibition matches or in an NSL Pacific Conference organized competition. Either we will be playing highly competitive games as some of the best U18 players in Northern California will take the field.

For just $35, players get San Jose PAL membership, and Real San Jose provides the uniforms and equipment needed to run the team. Players handle their own travel expenses to games in nearby Bay Area cities. Occasional special events and tournaments might incur extra charges for those keen on participating. Don't worry, though - game-day admissions and sponsorships take care of everything else!

So what will playing on this team be like? Players will report to training, ready to play, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM. Then the coaches will select the players that will play in the games. That simple.

You must understand that this is a competitive team. There is no guarantee of being selected to play in any game. Players will go to training to compete for a spot on the game roster. We will do our best to create game opportunities for all players, but we can not promise that will happen. The best way to represent San Jose on the game field is to earn your spot in training.

We plan to have a player pool of 25 players from which we will select players for any particular game.

The players in this program will get a taste of what playing in a competitive environment is all about. This experience will help players prepare for college, amateur, and professional programs.

Special note: This is the beginning, and we will grow this program based on interest. If you are a coach that would like to create a competitive, don't hesitate to get in touch with me, and we will explore the opportunity. This includes the possibility of building adult and youth women's teams.
