Real San Jose Soccer Club

The 2026 season has come to an end, and there is no way to describe it other than disappointing.

After twenty seasons, Real San Jose experienced the most difficult year in club history. The results on the field fell well below the standards we have set for ourselves, and as a club we must honestly acknowledge that.

Professional standards require commitment, preparation, accountability, and consistency. This season showed us that we fell short in those areas.

The responsibility for rebuilding begins now.

Over the coming months, the club will evaluate every aspect of its operation as we prepare for the 2027 NPSL season. Our goal is not simply to improve our record, but to rebuild a culture that reflects the values Real San Jose was founded on nearly twenty years ago.

As part of that process, the club will not participate in the 2027 U.S. Open Cup qualifying competition. We believe our resources are better invested in strengthening our roster, improving our organization, and building a team capable of competing at the level our supporters expect.

Open tryouts for the 2027 season will be announced in early 2027. Every roster position will be earned.

To our supporters, sponsors, volunteers, players, and everyone who has stood behind Real San Jose over the past twenty seasons, thank you. Difficult seasons do not define a club. How a club responds to them does.

The work begins today.

Real San Jose Soccer Club

Real San Jose has done it again, staying unbeaten in eleven straight NSL Pacific Conference league matches. On October 14, 2023, Real San Jose defeated Vallejo Rising by a convincing 4-0 score at PAL Stadium in San Jose. Patrik Sofalvi and Angel Silva Moreno led the charge with two goals each, while goalkeeper Homero Arano and his defensive support shut down Vallejo's attempts at scoring.

The first half of the match was nothing short of fantastic for Real San Jose. In the 37th minute, Andy Canepa played a perfectly timed over-the-top ball to Patrik Sofalvi, who beat the Vallejo goalkeeper one-on-one. Real San Jose continued to build up their momentum, and just two minutes later, Sofalvi secured his brace off an assist from Darnel Alvarado.

Real San Jose kicked off the second half with just as much energy, and Angel Silva Moreno scored twice late in the match. He converted a pass from Hector Herrera to make the score 3-0 and then finished a goal-mouth scramble to complete the scoring at 4-0. Vallejo Rising tried to answer back with a few chances, but Homero Arano and his fellow defenders were able to stave off the attacks.

Overall, the team played with tenacity and teamwork, and their performance showcased a promising start to their NSL Pacific Conference 2023-04 season.

The stellar performance of Real San Jose's back four is worth noting. Canepa, Teddy Rexing, Jacob Muniz, and Juan Tribin kept Vallejo's attackers at bay and ensured that goalkeeper Homero Arano didn't face many threatening shots. In the midfield, Nico Mendez and newcomer Victor Salguero controlled much of the game's tempo with their ball distribution and dribbling skills.

The win over Vallejo Rising sets Real San Jose up with a one-win and one-tie record in the NSL Pacific Conference 2023-04 season. Their victory also gives the team promising momentum heading into their next matchup against UC Premier on October 21. Real San Jose will host UC Premier at PAL Stadium in an NSL Pacific Cup first-round match, and the game is set to kick off at 7:00 PM.
